Aircraft Buying Guide for First-Time Buyers!

Buying your first aircraft is both exciting and confusing. It is a big investment deal and one has to consider so many factors before taking the final decision. There are a number of airplanes out there but you don’t know which one to go for. So in order to end this confusion and uplift your excitement, here is a short checklist that will help you find your way through a fleet of airplanes. Follow it and achieve those first steps towards owning your first aircraft. Maybe you will get some choices that are fun to keep and you want to fly off in right away.

  • Your Mission Should Be Clear, Define It Properly: Before buying an aircraft have a clear idea about why you are purchasing it, will it fit into your family or lifestyle. Usually, first-time buyers concentrate more on the hardware rather than its utility for them. So, it is very important to be brutally realistic while analyzing the aircraft and your lives. Don’t just rush to buy one, take your time and then decide. After all, you have planned to spend a lot, give yourself time.
  • You Must Have The Skills To Carry An Aircraft: Although skills should not be a deciding factor in aircraft buying but one must be skilled enough to judge whether they are investing in the right thing or not. However, these skills can always improve through training. You just need the right training to fly an airplane. It’s all about developing the appropriate skill set so that you can get into the air with minimum hassle and expense.
  • It’s All About Money, Prepare Your Finances Well: When you have already planned to buy an aircraft, it is better to analyze all the expenses beforehand and to be prepared for them. When owning an airplane is on your mind, it is a must to carefully look at every financial aspect. This is because the acquisition of an aircraft is a big investment and one should properly consider every little detail about it.
  • Look for a Simple Airplane, Complex Ones Can Be Expensive: If you are of an idea that a simple airplane can’t give you great utility, then you are mistaken. You know the more complex the aircraft, the more is the maintenance cost. So, it is better to go with the simple one when you are buying it for the first time. It will not just train you well but will also save you loads.
  • Before You Buy It, Make A Storage Space For It: Well, if you are buying it you also have to preserve it at some safe place. Your airplanes too need a space to live somewhere like your cars. There are four ways to keep them secured; outside tiedown, outside shades, common-use hangar or private hangar. It is you who has to decide which one you want to opt.
I hope this checklist will help you decide better. However, doing a research and building your spreadsheets will also pay you well.
